LOVE'S TESTA Poem by Rob TaylorLOVE’S TEST As the two walked on, Warm summer skies A smile was seen, Upon two forms As hand in hand, Youth finding love New feelings growing, Fresh glow, yes love. Then, in sudden fright, She stopped A young girl’s scream, Was all he heard There on the path, On which they walked An object lie, A snake she thought Then stepping back, Eyes open wide She clasp her arms, Across her breast Then forward stepped, her handsome knight Protecting maiden, from her fright. Brave and bold, his foot reached out Into the air, the object flew Away, away, yes there it went That awful, fearful frightening threat. [she smiled] Oh wicked maiden, yes she knew But wished to see, if her knight was true So there she found, upon their path A test to see, if he would act. That threat she saw, which caused her fright to save maiden fair , Kicked by her knight Was not a threatening, fearful snake, But just an old brown, twisted stick. [she smiled] Rt/11/2010 © 2010 Rob Taylor |
