ROAD TRIP

ROAD TRIP

A Poem by Rob Taylor

I bought a brand new car today

Gonn’a take a trip  so far away

Life’s up’s and down’s get in my way

The sky of blue has turned to gray

Like black and blue I feel the hurt

An empty bottle’s all I got

Just don’t remember stormy way’s

Always forget those long cold day’s

I bought a brand new car today

Travel South that’s where I’ll stay

Cold six pack or A bottle rides

In the seat here by my side

Dark glasses shade the day time sun

It’s truth to say I’m on the run

Just my brand new car and me

We left the place called home today
