Flipping Percentages

Flipping Percentages

A Poem by Robert Ross

Painted faces
eyes and swords
axes and slants
hit the turn running
a bullet in last place
titter of a table
finale divine intervention
(a divine comedy)
roars of laughter
excuses!
it was 50/50?
cover eyes in cape!
impaled on sword
bleeding capitol
a royal court assembled!

Lest we forget the poor man,
can no longer wink
arthritic pain throbbing
a glorious game,
true survival,
quivering hands reach
for that last dollar...
ALL IN ALL IN ALL IN!
