Chihuahua of the Future

Chihuahua of the Future

A Poem by Heather Clayton

I grace the cover of Cosmo, man
and I ring the dinner bell
to get my food.

I will bite your hand
and I know the word "Kill"
but I am good.

No, Taco Bell in sight
I am of little height
no more jokes about asthma sufferers.
Or funny ha-has when I choke.
no more poop to clean on the pristine sidewalk.
My shrink says I'm mean.

All I want is my water bowl and some easy lovin'.
I do have a million cousin.
But I am above and beyond Spud McKenzie
All you Chihuahua lady's come to me.

For I am The Chihuahua of the Future.
