Message in a Bottle

Message in a Bottle

A Poem by Robin M. Isle

While walking aimlessly along the shore one day,

I came upon a bottle which enveloped a note that had been cast away.

Curiosity possessed me to take it up and probe the bottle for the letter inside,

only to find that the ink had been washed away by the tide.

Visually, it's nice; rhythmically, it's pretty clunky. The meter is awfully irregular, and it doesn't scan or roll of the tongue well. It needs some re-wording and tightening to clean up the flow.
