AUGUST BUTTERFLIES

AUGUST BUTTERFLIES

A Poem by Marie
"

End of season...

"

Jeweled wings are ragged now

The time is almost done

Fairy angels end their lives

Dancing in the sun.

So sorry to hear that you have passed May it not be a dark night but a bright light Like yourself. May you be rocked in the arms of the Almighty to the beat of the lullaby winds. As all the souls of Heaven play a song so kind to the sound of the caroling winds. You have been a great friend to me.You have many great friends who have cried over you. May those tears fall from the heavens like notes from far flung rain to ring out the message you are loved.
Goodnight Marie.

But what a life that they have lived, from such a plain and unpromising befginnning. More in those four lines than in a lot of longer poems!

'End of Season' - a painfully telling description of what was to come.

Like Tom, I looked for Marie after a long time ...(I was wondering why she was silent and had not reviewed my latest piece.) I was shocked to learn the sad news.

"Fairy Angels end their lives dancing in the sun..." Yes, they do.

The comments below by everyone express so well what many of us feel...

Bye, Marie

Such a beautifully descriptive four lines that says so much more than the sum of their parts. Beautifully captured.

Ahhhh....beautiful! I was blessed to see a butterfly in the desert recently, and your poem describe the moment perfectly. Where I live, there is one month of cold winter, and 11 months of hot summer, so my once a year chance of seeing a graceful butterfly has come and gone.....

Those fairy angels surely know how to make us stand still and appreciate their beauty!

Oh, they are beautiful for a small time in their magic colors.
Sun and a meadow of flowers are their feast.

Marie,
I just learned of your passing. Surely I am such a dunce head.
It appears clearly you knew something was up when you wrote this last work. By the many reviews and views it is plain you had, and still have, many adoring fans. You inspired us all. I will miss you greatly.
Life at wc just doesn't seem the same anymore.
Good bye my friend.
