HENRI'S BIRTHDAY

HENRI'S BIRTHDAY

A Poem by Marie
"

Henri's lament about another year passing...

"

Another year has passed. I find

It has left no change behind.

My water bowl sits on the floor

As it did the day before,

And my bumbling human slave

Cannot give me what I crave,

Only fills the boring dish.

I wish that I knew how to wish.

Oh my goodness, I'm happy to have read this, Marie! Anyone who knows cats knows whereof you speak here and you've put it so fluently.

Extremely clever, Marie! Every cat I've ever known or associated with in my life, has had a look on it's face that said just what you wrote.
