UNKNOWN FOREST

UNKNOWN FOREST

A Poem by Marie
"

Tree ghosts...?

"

The exquisite violet blossoms of the blue jacaranda smother its branches and make an eye-catching spectacle just before the leaves unfold.

Trees cast ghostly shadows

On the silver grass

Spreading lacy fingers

To touch me as I pass

Kind souls keeping watch

Haunt this forest dell

Lift their spirit branches

Saying “All is well!”

This is really nice. A feeling of protection from the trees.

This is a very nice poem, I enjoyed it. For me, it sums up the reassurance that I feel whilst on a hike in a forest, which is a fond memory.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I`ve always considered trees to be Nature`s protectors....their canopy is a sanctuary for all creatures. I think you`ve captured their benevolence well, Marie. P.

Thanks; I hoped I could do that.
I like the idea of "Silver grass", it somehow adds magic to something as insignificant as grass...also "spirit branches"- trees have always overwhelmed me whenever I sit alone outside, at night. I get this feeling that they are watching me and have watched many more before me and have stored inside them millions of untold stories......

I'm sure they do...
A very elegant piece of write. Reading your poem gave me a impression that I am myself walking in the forest.

Apart from the poem, image was also very appealing.

Thanks for sharing this.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.
How I love my trees, xylem Xanadu sails on the heights. They reach for the skies like the ancient martial arts masters hoping to placate and emplore the airs submission.

So would I.
What a beautifully haunting poem... this vision of branches reaching down... of a forest alive in the sweet darkness.. sighing in the wonder of spring's soul...

Thanks Woody. I find pictures on the Internet, and thought this one looked "ghostly".
