Peril of Man

Peril of Man

A Poem by Robert W. Kerr
"

This is not really a poem so much as a thought. But seeing as there is no listing for thoughts I have placed it under poems.

"

It truly is the times of great peril that define who a man really is.

With humility, with the fear of the unknown, with pain and no escape from it.

For this is who we discover the man really is.

The peril, be it loss, be it illness, be it the prison of insanity that consumes his mind.

Be it the  absence of love.

The horizon of peril defines who a man really is.

So go on and be great in the times of peril and cherish the times of happiness.

Keep near the heart that in peril two factors remain always true...

This too shall pass and the only permanent thing in life is change.

So be great in the times of peril, for it is those who do, they are the ones that see the light beyond the horizon.
