Dear Answer ManA Poem by robert1146A comical how-to-manage in the face of temptation. (from a self-published newsletter, Look Up And Not Down - August 2000)Dear Answer Man: I love my wife, I really do, But she doesn't know what I go through, Like the other day I went to the store To buy some groceries, that was the chore, "Excuse me", was all the pretty girl said, Then what thoughts just popped in my head! I mumbled something stupid, then ran away And I avoid that store to this very day. Now Answer Man please what do I do? I'm waiting now, I'm depending on you. The Fisherman Dear Answer Man: I love my husband, I really do But he doesn't know what I go through, The other day I went to the store (The one my husband won't go in anymore) And I saw this clerk all buff and tanned, He was no more handsome than my own sweet man But all at once - the thoughts I thought Would put me in jail if I were caught! So I turned around and ran away And haven't been back to this very day. Now Answer Man please, what do I do? I'm waiting now, I depending on you. The Fisherman's Wife To: Two People That Like To Fish Let me tell you, it is my wish to have a love like yours in my life, To know how to behave like husband and wife, For you see, you both have done what is right, When you saw temptation, you turned in flight. My advice to you when next there's a chore That you go together to the grocery store, And you hold hands and you look at each other, And you won't have time to see any other! So go ahead - live a long and blessed life And be the best kind of husband and wife. Sincerely, The Answer Man © 2009 robert1146Author's Note
