Still Waiting

Still Waiting

A Poem by Robert Bean

Still Waiting

She stands before me, smiling through painted lips
asking me what I am looking at
the previews of heaven shimmer in her eyes
as the devil dances in her gaze
know better, should run like the heated wind
my desire rises like a monsoon tide
and my heart is singing to her before I can open my mouth
Her aura outshines the full moon
the lake in the background steams
we will wish to visit this moment again
but it is lost in the whirlwind passion has created
I can love you
when love is what you wish
