Aftermath

Aftermath

A Poem by Robert Bean

Aftermath

Sitting, holding hands watching stars
discussing what we wanted and needed
and neither provided
Lust is ever fleeting, momentary joy
love is intangible and uncontrollable
we dont choose who we love
we cant see what we need
grasp at what we want and desire
not sure why it slips thru our fingers
but we shall never quit reaching
and living in the aftermath
