AliveA Chapter by Robby DeLucaThis is starting to sound like The Mortal Instruments...
Ezro walked over to the counter to pick up a pizza.
"He's kind of cute," Melvin said, indicating Ezro. "Yeah," Noel replied. Ezro walked out the door and turned. "I'm gonna go see if I can't find out who he is for you, Melvin," Noel said. "Yeah," "Don't be slow," Jackie said. "All right," And with that, Noel ran out the door after Ezro. She followed him for a few blocks until he turned into an alley and continued walking. Noel followed him and he had vanished. She looked around the alley, and suddenly he was behind her. "Who are you and why are you following me?" Ezro said. "I-I'm Noel, and I know who you are," Noel said. "Who am I then?" "Your name is Ezro Galliger, and you are a Descendant of Azrael, the Angel of Death. You hunt spirits," "Good guess," Ezro said, lowering his hand, "I guess a better question is how do you know me?" "This may seem crazy but-," "Call me maybe?" Ezro said, joking. "No, I saw you in a dream. A very recurring one," "Really?" Ezro said, "I'd like to think that you were insane, but being that accurate..." Ezro paused a moment and said, "Let me see your hand," Ezro gripped Noel's hand gingerly and examined it. The way he gently held her hand sent shivers up her spine. Ezro mumbled a word in some archeic language and suddenly, Noel's hand began burning as though Ezro just set it on fire. Noel looked at her hand and saw, with horror, that there was a spiraling line moving along the back of her hand. She gasped as the line began forming an eye on her hand, which looked like a demonic rune, that burned as it snaked its way up her arm. She felt it pass her elbow and get all the way to her shoulder, then fly past her collarbone, and jump to her face, ending at her left eye and twirling around it like a blind cobra. Suddenly, her vision blurred and changed, forcing her to see a light coming from anything in the alley that was living. Ezro gave off a bluish light that formed in the shape of a lightning bolt, and there were several small lights darting around the alley. "Congratulations, Daughter of Azrael, you have just joined the Clan of Azrael," Ezro said, smiling at her with an infectious smile. "I'm a what?!" "You are a Daughter of Azrael, a member of the Clan of Azrael. You are a spirit hunter, and you can fight the demons and you can help human spirits pass on to the afterlife," "Okay, that's just weird," Noel said. Ezro looked at her and said, "Well, let's make it 'not weird,'" He grabbed her hand and started walking. Noel observed his looks a little while they were walking. He was tall, almost 6'8", and wore a black long sleeve shirt and a pair of jeans. He carried himself like a warrior, tall and proud and rigid. Noel didn't notice it earlier, but he had a long sword belted around his waist, even though it was broad daylight. "Well, are you always this quiet, or are you just intimidated by my devilishly good looks?" Ezro said, smiling at her with all his perfectly white teeth showing. "N-no," Noel stammered out. She had trouble talking to boys she didn't know. The only boy she actually got along with as soon as she met him was Melvin, and that was just because he was gay. "No to what?" Ezro laughed. That was infectious, too. "I'm just-shy," Noel said. "Oh, okay," Ezro said, "Well, we're almost there," "Almost where?" "The headquarters for the Decendents of Azrael," Ezro said, rounding a corner, "You have to go to headquarters to get your weapon and you also need to get a familiar," Ezro stepped up to a large house that had a vaulted entryway that took them into a large hallway that had about fifty other people in it, including a tall man that looked like Ezro's father. He stood tall with black hair, and a deep black goatee that offset his angular face, making him look about maybe thirty. "Is this the new Decendent, Ezro?" "Yes, father," Ezro said, repsectfully. "Good, take her to the weapons room and get her equipped, and also, get her a familiar, we don't need her getting killed within the week,"
