Don't Stop the ShowA Poem by Robby DeLucaOne last poem before I leave for Basic, where I will be on hiatus for a good while. I hope that this one can at least be a placebo for until I can use a computer once again, and thank you all.It feels like I only have ten seconds, And then my whole world can change, A lot can happen, I have to reckon, Because in ten seconds I aged, I felt the gray hairs sprouting, And I couldn't help but laugh, And do a lot of shouting, When my life is cut in half, The change I feel, is a strange one, Bittersweet, and harsh, I think that four years could be fun, If I can keep up this farce, My head goes numb, My hands start to shake, I start to feel dumb, Can I get some aspirin, for Heaven's sake?! I'm only one man, And I know life sucks, But when the s**t hits the fan, I feel kind of stuck, The walls close in, I can't breathe, There's terror within, And I'm just left to seethe, About all the plans that I couldn't keep, The job I just quit, The working with sheep, My life just went to s**t, I hope I can pray, I hope I can beg, That I don't have to stay, Stuck in my egg, The curtain is closing, On my childhood, Of days sitting, dozing, Out in the wood, Please let me stay, Don't make me go, Let me get away, And don't stop the show. © 2013 Robby DeLucaAuthor's Note
