THE FLOWER COMPOSED IN THE DARK

THE FLOWER COMPOSED IN THE DARK

A Poem by Robert Robbie Lord Dudley

oh my flower you are not looking so well oh come softly softly tread with me in

the morning light and are you in such grief that aches oh come softly softly gently

alone we shall sweep away all and forget for a little relief of some sweet and tender

release from floating on this way in a world of rain as destiny chases us let us go

oh my only flower i see a flicker up there out there was felt at once sky, sea, space we

must fly fast to stop to see to hear the flower composed in the dark put by the mood we

in like with our well beloved moon above must change from one way to another way now

something broods more clouds here and the dew came falling heavy down once around

was in your eyes across your hair bright now i will try not to frown or change upon

so blue upon you i am to come softly softly smiling through glowing shimmering

so full one true thing spinning sliding us let us lay besides in our hopes for something

remains composed of a flower just in a little while to hold you there through

above encourges us bemuses us from afar a light follows wings growing thrush so

until the feeling is passing let us enter the rain as destiny chases us let us go dream

as i might ask do you know when-so how-so to have away that tosses away empty glasses

in the pensive wind why not what does this in our distress if it's the cold instantly

we must walk close to find it out just between us again this is my only certain reply

oh do look at me with those eyes let us walk some i hope this time we'll know

after a time of drinking wine and dancing is over tonight the world's our's i'm sure

besides we have had footsteps before sunrises approaching morning high oh my only flower

it was so really insane we were so drenched unnoticing that you fell back to fall asleep

i notice for love's sake it's now our faces what must turn with care of your own my own

oh i see my only little flower in the garden dreaming away from all we knew was this

how one felt such as if we had been severed so yesterday is a long wind that came

looming from all we do and you will always be blooming as we shall weep away so sudden

events i view your petals painted still on with such a mist glowing shimmering through

oh heavenly hues of a fair white rose i penned these oh come shine and see

under moonlight bright and new perhaps we are given the gifts of a light in love

might be all nonsense from a dense star close from a white leaf melting take ease

who knew each were a light to earth i don't need no reasons no one can tell just listen

oh i see my only little flower going by the seasons were all beautiful but brief

and then when the next and the next chance oh splendid Spring oh come bring us

passion all around the land the sweet breeze the good grief that aches in relief of release

from the silence of the night to burst forth the flower composed in the dark
