YOU'RE ON THE LEVEL GROUND

YOU'RE ON THE LEVEL GROUND

A Poem by Robert Robbie Lord Dudley

you're on the level ground

i'm on the uneven ground

at every pretty leaf each yellow flower

painted, i could drink

a whole field of them

so darling so put inside

nothing greater

with one touch

our angels will prevail oh each i felt

a heart the red rose higher

in the best any part

in any little way thinking big

enthralls in me arts of the unbound

if we should lose all

and go very fast onward

with each other

more down the long road

with each other

and go very slow forward

with each other

more down the long path

with each other

to express the unbound

a-black stone step steeple

for the unfound to enjoy it now

finding delight

looking around

and that it is truly so

in a-free form

and you know this is where it's at

i let go, you let go

lighthearted i play

my flute smoothly to you

i see for myself

i will cover you

i am the tree limbs wanting to sway

i will cover you

i am leaves getting carried away

i will cover you

i am the top leaf underneath me

the grass be soft a-dream

don't watch me leap

to rise today in a vision perfect

goes deep in beneath

up above the frozen heat

yellow clovers cover'd hill

of swirling clouds

quick think of it now

a-dirty coat worn so wonderful

under the root

the mountain

over the stone inscribed

with one pat

on the back our

angels will prevail on oh how each i felt

and must exceed

and that it is truly

in a-free form

and you will flow soundly

sitting in on whatever

an open key meaningfully let's see

you fell through

and then looked at me

been down together so long

and we must find

through a maze

as-like a puzzle piece

i was puzzled

place it there-in

and spread it apart had

all the pieces shifted

in empty spaces

here and there

in the most cases were no-where

a heart the red rose higher

how beautiful

it's blooming like a flower

you're on the level ground

i'm on the uneven ground

the grass be soft

don't watch me leap in

and rise today in a vision

and go deep in beneath

up into the frozen heat

yellow clovers cover'd a hill

of swirling clouds

quick think of it now

a dirty coat worn beautiful

oh in all tomorrow was

moving on without it

over all colors below

under the window

and each and all were where

a heart the red rose higher

if we should lose all

and go very fast onward

with each other

more down the long road

with each other

and go very slow forward

with each other

more down the long path

with each other

you're on the level ground

i'm on the uneven ground

at every pretty leaf each yellow flowers

painted, i could drink

a whole field of them

so darling so put inside

nothing greater

with one touch

i let go, you let go

lighthearted i play

my flute smoothly to you

i see for myself

i will cover you

i am the tree limbs wanting to sway

i will cover you

i am leaves carrying away

i will cover you

i am the top leaf under me

oh, the grass be soft a-dream

a-passion it was

Sorry to say, but you might want to re-edit some of this. Make breaks for margin, separate some of the wording for a more effective flow.
