Alongside, THE HIGHWAY LANES ~ we shoulder'd onA Poem by Robert Robbie Lord Dudleyreflections of memories inside me burns brightly inside me just like candles lit i made this poem for you and thus poem beautiful you fit fast struggled and didn't quit trying so sometimes even when it got most strenuous deep hurts on all those roads you got at times sick of it all then better again because you carried it off well enough to stand and no-body else would yell or raise in praise on a curb-ball game the good lord kept us all on the ball and we wail'd it over the fence we were free rough we were tough to the last breath a sweet word never sour we were fresh all in one family circle like Haley's comet so high in the sky we saw it from every place to place so very far so very near to come back to look back down at us how did we get a plate of a whole lot of bread and beans and meat and potatos and bowl full of oats and every cup was filled to the top and not a drop of rain has signs symbols appending was ever spill'd you had a long country mile to go to put forth to attain them blocks that augment'd and strenghten'd you in boots you travel'd over wet and dry roots you held together at night fell apart and wept heart aching though you kept it so on the table with all your might you gave your heart so rejoice alright is your soul for we always stay'd good in grace in some trace even without when broke but life is fun and we smiled awhiles the dark doesn't look so bleak you have proven that to us because because in all is better and not so bitter now each of us has a chin upon hands dad did his best and will be missed this must be open and have here a sweet discusion never sour made about the just needs now as it is and as it was past is past have strength dear mother near will become still and rest in peaceful words and dear dad was always at his best and will be missed so all by the strongest legs in town they last'd more than just one round oh for one more time around to stand again in those shoes because i am at times sure to find and i got that from them hard knocks never was broken and all statues something noble sitting standing waiting for some reason the harvestland in good and bad shape it made our hearts to the sky when we were that was like after brute my good dog shook and ran with the suds on you us too it was so silly it only made us all bust out with laughter so important it is this more than anything else today or ever was still beautiful when i know pretty words wise tells me that's nice for once in life yeah yup i know and don't though i hold up so near when far or not yet the unconditional rule stay hungry stay stubborn as a child stay real as a mule stay foolish it never ends chooses on and on invert'd extrovert'd exsert'd brave ye self the almighty determined was scary captain of ye old vessel it is so true never gives up the ship he has seen it in a dream between the clouds what course they contains what is new clean and good awhiles clear was shining on each boot how it is now pouring down all to preceed onward storms go our journey is noted from above do as we wants to do cares always believe always to be looking at whose and something will happen by our bestest nearly always does has by the dust of the roads on our shoes alongside the highway lanes we shoulder'd on bumming abouts towards truth indeed trying to handle it can't keep it all but somethings weren't lost was our greatest help as though was once upon a time long ago was so mix'd up that at times was a hard flame between us grows where-ever the wind blows won't tell any hobo where 'bouts go forth oh to leave oh to see there's a rainbow in the dark some sunny ray rainy shiny catchy snowy day world somewhere and i know if it ain't at the top of it must be at the bottom of it i can see how you got here so far through fears love and loss was just as well love is safe love is light that still does shine out from the bottom of your heart and a warm soul with all your might you gave your heart of joys and tears was as well as in blindness you couldn't see that very well for many years of these objectives so much pain and persistence about each day in a very long fight for a time on plain your prayers your pain were all given up to the lord Jesus to walk closer through this darkness on this lonely day only God knows what to say whence thence ye has passeth away to the other path like in ye ole days would say ney death have a blessed day and read your bible that good old book good old boy dear dad was plum out and how by all and all has heart substained us through and through longer and longer have we progressed and you loved us as He does under wood and that makes it what is righteous sweat bore nothing so sweet never sour life is salt leads fault on sugared walls go with God with no one blame all by the strongest legs in town all by the strongest legs in town alongside the highway lanes we shoulder'd on i have done all that a son can do within every little step to love and smiles now and then to forgive God will show that i hope to the highest rivers listen to be proud and be not bitter so go with God and that be certain that will happen the gate will swing high swing low still ringing the bell in the curtain will open and close again speak for your blessed soul as you climb to the top step up to one step beyond the box the wind always ready to fall or fly with strong faith in love in light in life in warmth and spark by the cold fireplace big you chats about how you was called the strongest legs in town they've gone so far gone and up comes from below the bottom of the hearth and breadth alive to always blues always being looking out in thoughts of better yet and something will happen by our bestest nearly always does and go and follow to Heaven your heart your mind waiting for the sun to shine through this line so beat until the last by the dust of the roads on our shoes shone until the last by the dust of the roads on our shoes shone light and sweet Jesus would walk to Heaven with you light and sweet Jesus will walk to Heaven with you 'till we meet again good night and God bless
