I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDERA Poem by Robert Robbie Lord Dudley
FROM SOME CORNER OF THE SKY
WITH MOONLIGHT ON THE FOOT OF MY BED
AND SO SOFT THE LINEN IS FRESH AIR
WHERE THE HEAD FLOWS FREE
MY EYES HAVE SEEN OFF INTO THE DARK WATERS
NOT SO EASY OF THE STORM I FEEL AROUND ME
A WHIRLWIND OF EXISTENCE BEYOND ME UPON THE OTHER SIDE OF HORIZONS RAIN CAME RUSHING IN
BEFORE CLOSING THE WINDOW
THAT KEEPS FROM DROWNING ME
I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDER
I'M SURE WILL FLASH AGAIN
I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDER
I'M SURE WILL FLASH AGAIN
I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDER
I'M SURE WILL FLASH AGAIN
I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDER
I CAN STEAL THE POUNDING THUNDER WAKING, SHAKING, BUT, NOT BRAKING IS AMAZING TO SEEK APPROVAL BEFORE I DIE FEELING WE'RE ATLEAST AT HOME AT LAST WHEREFORE
MY HEART IS HERE INSIDE OF MY CHEST
THE GOOD THOUGHTS THAT ARE EXPRESSED BENEATH COME
THE STARLIGHT I'M SURE WILL BE BRIGHT AGAIN
WOE! WHAT WAS THAT WEATHER JUST NOT IN HARMONY THAT IS KNOWN SOMETHING HAD THROWN ME A-PIECE COULD NOT IMAGINE AT THE THUNDER SO LOUD THE HOUSE BEGAN TO UNHINGE THE SELF SUGGESTING SOMETHING ON THE WAY MAY TURN FOR THE BETTER ON THE WAY MAY TURN TO THE WORSE PUSHING OUT INFORMATION THRU AS A STRONGER FORCE TO THE CLOUDS OF WARMTH AND LIGHT ARE A-STIRRING SPEACH AND AFAR FLUNG FIST A-WING TONIGHT INVISIBLE I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDER
I'M SURE WILL FLASH AGAIN
I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDER
I'M SURE WILL FLASH AGAIN
I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDER
I'M SURE WILL FLASH AGAIN
I CAN HEAR THE POUNDING THUNDER I CAN STEAL THE POUNDING THUNDER WAKING, SHAKING, BUT, NOT BRAKING IS AMAZING TO SEEK NOW BEFOREHAND I IGNORE
