Under the Quiet Sky By the Water

Under the Quiet Sky By the Water

A Poem by Robert Robbie Lord Dudley

a year has passed

since we said good-bye

in deep seclusion

connect with thought

under the quiet sky

i think of times and things

in our only winter

and only spring

which brings, the pleasent

and the sad, we had

frequently i walk softly

through the peaceful woods

recalling the feelings

that weren't so real

easily understood

reaching back in time

entering my mind

to find, a emptiness

to prolong the pain that came

with every thought

as i walked by

a year has passed

since we had said good-bye

in deep seclusion

connected with thought

under the quiet sky

in uninterrupted silence

among the sheltering trees

the leaves appear to be

green to me though

unhappy i keep looking

to meet you there still do

over the hill by the water you

were forever sublime do come

under the quiet sky by the water

you were forever sublime

a year has passed

since we had said good-bye

in deep seclusion

connected with thought

under the quiet sky
