I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE BROKEN

I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE BROKEN

A Poem by Robert Robbie Lord Dudley

BY A GAME FROM THE ROOM

WE WILL RETURN IN TIME

DON'T LET IT HAPPEN
THE LOSS OF PASSION

AGAINST ALL ODDS

IN ONE SILENT SPRING

THE FIRST TEMPLE

WILL START AGAIN

THE FIRST TEMPLE

WON'T BURN

THE FIRST TEMPLE
WON'T FALL

THE FIRST TEMPLE
AROUND OUR EARS

DAY'S STORM HAD ENTANGLED

A-MIDNIGHT BROOM

ACROSS THE SPACE

OPENING UP THE SOFT MOON

SO EMPTY SO HALLOW

SOUNDS SO PLEASENT

I DIDN'T KNOW

THEY WERE BROKEN

AND WE DID THIS

RUNNING AROUND

THE PILLARS

TO LEARN OUR WORLD

RECALLS THE BIRD

SO LET IT BE FLOWING

AND WANDERING TOGETHER

LIKE THE EARTH DO

AND WALKING ALONG

THE RUNNING STREAM

BY EITHER SIDE EVER EXTENDING

BACK FASTER THROUGH

THE FLAT GLASS

THAT WITHOUT HANDLES

MUST BE HANDLED WITH CARE

ENCLOSING A GOLDEN RAY LETTER

A MESSAGE MURMERED

BY THE TALL TREES

THAT WITHOUT WALLS

ARE SMOOTH AND IT SOARS

OVER THE FIELDS HERE
AT THIER FIRST SIGHT

BACKWARDS AND FORWARDS

THE WAYS WE WERE

HOLDING THE BRANCHES

TWICE TOGETHER

WAITING AROUND BEFORE

STRIKING THE MATCHES WOULD FALL

POETIC IT WAS THE CLOUD

THE MIRROR OF GRACE

AND YOU SAID IT INTO ALL

THE PIECES FOUND

AGAINST ALL ODDS

IN ONE SILENT SPRING

THE FIRST TEMPLE

WILL START AGAIN

THE FIRST TEMPLE
WON'T BURN

THE FIRST TEMPLE

WON'T FALL

THE FIRST TEMPLE

AROUND OUR EARS

SO EMPTY SO HALLOW

SOUNDS SO PLEASENT

I DIDN'T KNOW

THEY WERE BROKEN

AND WE DID THIS

RUNNING AROUND

THE PILLARS

TO LEARN OUR WORLD

RECALLS THE BIRD

SO LET IT BE FLOWING

AND WANDERING TOGETHER

LIKE THE EARTH DO

AND WALKING ALONG

THE RUNNING STREAM

THE FIRST TEMPLE

WILL START AGAIN

TO BOUNCE OFF MORE DANCE

BEYOND THE BOOK

ONTO THE ROAD

UP AND DOWN

THE SEASHELL AT ANY SHAPE

THE PLANES POINTS UP

AND ONE BY ONE UNTIL HOME

ABOUNDS BY THE BREEZE

SPINNING FOR A SHORT TIME

THE ROUND BALL

AND EACH NOTE THAT HANGS

ABOUNDS BY THE BREEZE

BACKWARDS AND FORWARDS

THE WAYS WE WERE

HOLDING THE BRANCHES

TWICE TOGETHER

WAITING AROUND BEFORE

STRIKING THE MATCHES WOULD FALL
