UNCOVERS YOUR LETTERS

UNCOVERS YOUR LETTERS

A Poem by Robert Robbie Lord Dudley

i hold a string better for

the thinking, the sinking, for the new steps perhaps

remaining of what is real books how come thier

bulging on shelves in libraries over us all now one set in circles

so goes everything into a peaceful center, corner

uncovers your letters, knowing, flowing, downward

how far we will see to do is as we are freeing the butterfly

from in the net open falling like water at no ending it's not yet built

reading alongside the pavement surprising me at leaps deeply

for somewheres over and over and over expressing over

and rising, my heart, my head, above them, at no ending

my fingers bare are red and sore one early morn'

of how shall i ever again get another chart on the road i goes

i keeps on picking up adding to those broken pieces blues so deep

as blue to feel a little incomplete where a thread

has it more in tread to seek out on the bits i spits out

oh what future oh what edge brings on i feels upon unending

i hold a string better for

the thinking, the sinking, it is.
