NOW NOW YOU KNOW HOW I AM

NOW NOW YOU KNOW HOW I AM

A Poem by Robert Robbie Lord Dudley

to share in the hope
in a-cleansing rain
oh, rain, oh, rain,
oh, wonderful rain
oh, come to erase fear
there is not nothing
like wonderful rain
are you awake hereafter
and do you remember
what it feels like
deep enough to drown
no easy way down saves moves
so get on up and put on those shoes
let's go put on those shoes
comb that helpless hair
you and i a-try getting across
through the streams, freshness
in the sensations
watching the disturbance
across the surface
with expressing, expressing over again
and walk on, walk on
i shall change to convene
of lines and signs to seek onetime
wondrous and brief
you shall want always to see
the sunrays in the air lovely
the leaves shine ways
it must be i assume
we saw in the first sight
stream along brightly
isn't it weird wet dawn
in the sweet destiny of the sky
what we doing now
now now you know how i am
i could stay right here in
another way wakes us up to feel good
extending a hand clutching
i'm fetching flowers
until everything is gone
until that rain lent you and me
that happy tail feeling
of everything to know
when wonderful rain comes to pass
in good or fine weather
and even in this day, what is best
i'll take me a-stroll over
the birds chirping cheer up
the rain won't let me forget so soon
standing on my own two feet
when everyone wants
to run away and retreat home
i stay and take my pains
in my head befallen my means
looking straight at it forming
and letting it fall
on the face, all those lines
to vent or pretend
does that count for
something significant
clean away gone sadness
there of and there by
cloudy poems shiny
flowers do not fade
they close and open again
looks like an awkward parade
wet grass smells clean the rain falls
embrace to understand
for you i have both
not anything rough around
are you awake hereafter
and do you remember
what it feels like
deep enough to drown
no easy way down saves moves
so get on up and put on those shoes
let's go put on those shoes
comb that helpless hair
you and i a-try getting across
through the streams, freshness
in the sensations
watching the disturbance
across the surface
with expressing, expressing over again
and walk on, walk on
i shall change to convene
of lines and signs to seek onetime
wondrous and brief
you shall want always to see
the sunrays in the air lovely
the leaves shine ways
it must be i assume
we saw in the first sight
stream along brightly
isn't it weird wet dawn
in the sweet destiny of the sky
what we doing now
now now you how i am
i could stay right here
another way wakes us up to feel good
extending a hand clutching
i'm fetching flowers
until everything is gone
until that rain lent you and me
that happy feeling
of everything to know
i know the road
i got a-dotty umbrella
yellow and red
not anything rough
should you need
one to erase fear
never fails to amaze
how i feels in all of life's base
and its bitter entanglements disappear
as when i am here undergoing
and pulling it down
outta no-where
at the new dawn to find
i know the road
i got a-dotty umbrella
yellow and red
not anything rough around
listen to the rain pour hit hard
although it's not for someone else
what else, i could go on
watching the wheels
and the rest of the little world
oh, rain, oh, rain
oh, wonderful rain
there is not nothing
like wonderful rain
in what world i felt
the flowers passions be
blooming with joy
now i feels as though
i'm going through
a passage misunderstood
a message left
a spend bloom dead
with rising, rising, rising over again
everyday, drifting petals
in a-cleansing rain
completely filled
and emptied again
to hold the rain
farther than we both can go
twopence, twofold
everything can't be
something must be
outta my own self one cover
of a-kinder extreme
stream along brightly
free a-little longer
for an instant blank
a-comfort opening to stay
sunshine straight up
i think i know how
since i have not seen a lot to say
when we troubled
what is going on
wash away gone sadness
there of and there by
cloudy poems shiny
flowers do not fade
they close and open again
looks like an awkward parade
wet grass smells clean the rain falls
embrace to understand
for you i have both
not anything rough around
are you awake hereafter
and do you remember
what it feels like
deep enough to drown
no easy way down saves moves
so get on up and put on those shoes
let's go put on those shoes
comb that helpless hair
you and i a-try getting across
through the streams, freshness
in the sensations
watching the disturbance

with expressing, expressing over again
and walk on, walk on

until that rain lent you and me
that happy feeling
of everything to know
i know the road
i got a-dotty umbrella
yellow and red
not anything rough around
should you need now
one to erase fear
into the gentle windings
of circles then upon tumbles
the movements we go
why it's my kind of thing
incites gives me feelings
tender i want you
to see when it rains
it pours slow all into the value
of a poem at one end
let my joy be known
going over it again
i never say anything
in a-cleansing rain
for an instant blank
sparkles along the riverline
it'll nicely pass us by
i sit stay loose because once
i knew i will get to
continue through
the leaves shine ways
