Gently Broken, Sweetly Restored

Gently Broken, Sweetly Restored

A Poem by Roleishia Matheney
"

God specializes in taking broken things and making them whole; my heart is proof of that. When Christ came into my life He became my Inspiration

"

Gently Broken, Sweetly Restored

A broken life is what I led

All these years I kept myself from getting ahead

Because thoughts were way too deep on pain

That kept me from falling asleep, even when it rained

Unforgiveness is what I held

Had it up to here, with, living my life in fear

Every corner I turned I felt death was near

It’s the choices I made that made my life go bad

Want to take the pain away show me a brighter day

Lord I am on my knees asking you to set me free

Trading in my memories, following the destiny,
                 You preplanned for me

How did I get to where I was

Hiding my face in the mud of despair

Felling as if no one cared

Oh, I did my best to try and hide

Well I gave up pretending when the road I traveled ended

With pain came death, through death came life

All thanks to You, Father

For resurrecting my brother Jesus Christ

Now I can breathe, now I can live

Now I have a whole heart to give

No more pain, no more sorrow

No more hiding my fears behind the years

That already disappeared

I am free, to be me

The me God created me to be

All because of what Jesus Christ does

Making sure my prayers ascend above

           Now That’s Love!!!
