I Miss You Again

I Miss You Again

A Poem by Raul Moreno

Thoughts are flooding me,
With memories of when.
As I lay my head,
On my pillow again.
Thoughts reverberate,
Back in my mind.
I haven’t missed you like this,
In quite a long time.

It’s been a long journey,
A journey of tears.
What seems like a while,
Has really been years.
I can’t tell you what it is,
I really don’t know.
What pangs this old heart,
Allowing sadness to grow.

I’m plagued with the memory
Of your infectious smile.
As I toss and turn...sifting,
Through my mental files.
My sorrow has awoken,
With memories of when.
Tormenting my soul,
As I miss you again.

I like this. You express grief and longing without being sappy and your meter is much better and more tight than the meter I see in many poems that you read. Very well executed.

I think the rhymes here are really well done, and you can really feel the longing and the sadness in the poem.
