Ode to Onions

Ode to Onions

A Poem by Raul Moreno
"

Written for the onions.

"
Star of the garden,
A crystalline appearance:
Shining in the earth.
·
Glossy crystal scales,
Polished platinum goblet:
An edible bulb.
·
Round bowl of water,
A flask of white flaky skin:
Bitter to the taste.
·
A heavenly globe,
Underground constellation:
Garden of onions.

Bravo!
I am loving your string haiku. You did a good job describing with flavor. Also the subject makes me smile. Onions are such complex bulbs/fruit/vegetables. My blog and also my journal is entitled, "My Onion Life." I also have a favorite piece I wrote by the same name. I have to favor this piece. Thanks for sharing it.
