Goodby Chas and ThanksA Poem by matelotrodA word of praise for a favourite musical genous who has passed away Goodbye Chas and Thanks All live's will come to an end but we leave praising far too late We should have shown our appreciation while they were entertaining I refer to "Chas" of "Chas and Dave" a pair that were really great Chas has sadly passed away now leaving only Dave remaining. I love their music and always will, everything they sang was great They were proud to be of London birth and always used that accent Rest in peace Chas, I am so sorry to have left my praise too late If you can hear me up in heaven "Your piano playng was excellent" When I listen to "That old piano" and "Wish I could write a love song" My mind just rushes to my favoutite "Waiting on a word from Anne" I know I've been neglectful and I have left my comments far too long I promise that I will play your musical work all the time that I still can Rod Broomham (c)
