Where did Great Britain Go

Mainly due to the problems we are having trying to leave the EU

Where did Great Britain go?
If you go back in time when our life was sublime
When Britain was well known as Great
Then we began giving in and making changes in time
Now our decision has caused some form of fate.

The countries we fought whilst proving our power
Have now began displaying their muscles
Our decision about Brexit is failing by the hour
And we are accepting rules passed by Brussels.

We were the first of four to build a new EU floor
And together built a Union that proved great
Unfortunately others joined and then more and more
This was obviously going to encourage fate

It took quite a while for the EU to lose control
The old Britain’s were beginning to object
The addition of countries was taking its toll
To be truthful, what more could you expect?

The referendum to leave wasn't hard to believe
The British were looking forward to an exit
The bitterness began and it grew hard to conceive
That the European Union could be so against Brexit

It will be almost three years before a result appears
Our governments are almost engaged in civil war
Ignore all demands which includes initiated fears
Bale out and go back to where Britain was before.
