Where did they go.

Where did they go.

A Poem by matelotrod

                           Where did they go?
I am completely confused about where to begin
I am referring to the lack of driving discipline
It has become a nightmare whilst driving a car
Speed limits are ignored wherever you are.

Police presence is rare so there is no control
The result is that speedster's are taking their toll
Whilst driving I experience some terrible frights
As racing idiots scream through red traffic lights

Some idiots will drive whilst using their phone
Completely unaware of an approaching safety zone
They do not pay regard to the dangerous mistakes
Causing fatal accidents by failing to use brakes.

Where are the Police? have they all disappeared?
I remember the days when they were dutifully feared
Call me old fashioned for wanting a yester-year treat
Double the police force and put them back on the beat

I have found that Driving has changed so much over the years and we seem to have lost our police force.

I am with you on this one Rod. I gave up driving many years ago, and now I look at what goes on with many foolish drivers, I am glad that I leave the driving to my wife who is a brilliant driver. I think a lot of drivers want to get killed, after watching them. I enjoyed your poem, my friend....Peter

Now, this is very true. I often wonder myself how some people managed to obtain a driving license let alone learn to drive NOT.

There's never a policeman around Rod when you need one, and there are certainly many idiots driving on our roads. Your poem is entertaining but also gives a strong message. We could certainly do with some more policemen and women. Your lines, well written my friend.
