Life don't get easy!

Life don't get easy!

A Poem by matelotrod
"

Fact of life unfortunately.

"

                     Life don't get easy!

Life doesn't get easy as you start to grow old

You forget everything that you've been told

This is the time when the Wife becomes boss

Doing her best to manage your memory loss.

My memory has faded now I forget everything

My only memories are the old songs that I sing

I remember every word and the lovely old tune

But I just cannot remember yesterday afternoon

I realize it is nature and we will not live forever

I 'll enjoy life with my partner as we fade together

It may sound  unethical, both lives  will diminish

The downfall, unfortunately, is a separate finish.

This is quite an upbeat poem Rod even though it is about memory loss and growing older. You have a very positive outlook on life. Enjoy it while you can, because all of us are going to go at sometime. It's great that you can remember all your old songs. That is quite often the case I am told. Music is something which often stays with us, when day to day stuff disappears out the window. I enjoyed reading your little poem. Thank you.

This is a lovely poem, I like the rhyming! You are right, life doesn't get easy! It's a part of life we all have to deal with. Take care! ☺

So right here Rod! The difficult part is admitting it! Still we must 'soldier' on and be accepting eh! I am sure many of us can relate or live life to the fullest ...like Stringfellow!

Hi Rod. I can honestly say that I completely relate to your words, my friend. I am only seventy six but my memory gets worse and worse with each new day. Yet in spite of all the ups and downs I love this life I lead. As I reach my demise the love between my lady and I get stronger and stronger, as life gets sweeter. I enjoyed your poem my friend. All the best...Peter
