Sugar InterventionA Poem by matelotrodSugar Intervention I feel that I've made a huge mistake I've just devoured a chocolate cake I knew it could damage my health Though I did it with incredible stealth My wife screamed "You are pathetic" Don't you realize that you are diabetic I didn't see or hear her enter the room Now my day will be gloom and doom I said "Back off and give me a break, It was you that cooked that lovely cake It was terrific the best that you've cooked OK it contains sugar but it gets me hooked I can't lead a life examining all that I eat My favorite food is anything that's sweet I admit I am stupid making sugar a pleasure What does it matter, we don't live forever.
