My hip makes me trip

Trying to look on the bright side of aging

                                             Hip Makes me trip
I guess it is part of aging that will often cause you to trip
What was a stride is now a wobble due to my dodgy hip
I set out for a walk in the country just a healthy little stroll
After a mile my hip gave way and  pain started taking its toll

I've had all manner of treatment and just between you and me
I wasn't impressed with the medical act known as physiotherapy
I was given an adjustable walking stick to help me negotiate a path
But after trying to use it I felt my physio nurse was having a laugh

I eventualy made it to the hospital where I had an Xray and a scan
The staff were really friendly vowing to help in any way they can
I was turned upside down and sideways when I heard them declare
I think this man is wasting our time It's just fair wear and tare.

I still wobble when I'm walking some times I have a deadly stagger
Sleep at night is dreadful  my hip feels its been struck by a dagger
I have to carry on with life and I will address my pain with mirth
I suppose it's only natural, proof will relate to your date of birth.

I'm having a terrible day, so it's good You are still posting here because a real smile is what I do need right now, I've read before from You about Your hip, but it's different here, as You've said it spotlighted a bright side on aging, beside seeing You dealing with it like that is so good :)

I wish You all the health and less pain, with many enjoyable trips to make, wonderful title by the way.

The older you get the more parts of the body wear out and unfortunately that's where I am now. Memory loss being one of the worse. I feel such a fool when I start a conversation and then freeze in the middle of it because my brain seems to go dead! Hopefully I will be able to write a poem now and then as that seems to be my only success project now. Hope your terrible day has come to an end and you are smiling again. I am visiting Writers Network again but I do not feel that they will stay with us again, I also visit allpoetry.com as they seem ok. I might be not that old yet, but I know exactly about the "freezing" mind, You have some company here lol, I don't think I will post on WN at least for now, my passion for it is so dim! I know of allpoetry, so wonderful to so You going everywhere :)

A very melodic write, Rod.

I am nowhere near this age of life for the body to start revealing its niggles and pains, but i can relate to this write from the experiences of those around me. No doubt about it, ageing is a bugger. The body can be so stubborn when it starts to wear out. And a real test of patience for those independently minded people who hate being fussed over by Doctors and physiotherapists.

Great flow and rhyme in this one. Very well written and inventively themed. Nice work.

I suppose the human body is no different from a car or other working instruments. A car doesn't last forever neither does the body. Maybe we should have more regular MOT's thank you for your understanding and I hope it will be many years before you have to travel down this road. I can honestly say that I have had a really great journey through the early part of my life and I do not regret a minute of it so I am happy for Mother Nature to take her toll. Rod.
