DementiaA Poem by matelotrodApproaching at an alarming rate.!Dementia? I know that this will appear absurd Do you have trouble finding a word? You can't remember a word you said You assume that your brain's gone dead.
It isn't uncommon for a man of my age But it does bring about ranting and rage Something attacks the use of your tongue Totally different to when you were young.
The problem increases when in a crowd Reaching the point where you scream aloud You can no longer engage in a conversation Your vocabulary is devoid of all preservation.
I know every word, that's stored in my head When I try to use them is a time that I dread My speech was always very meticulous Now I'm afraid it is completely ridiculous
Is there a cure? because it really does matter Life has gone downhill now I no longer chatter It is something I miss and I can only compare That my problem is akin to my tongue in a snare! Rod Broomham. (c) © 2017 matelotrod |
