Sunset

Sunset

A Poem by RL Valdez

Like the sun that sets beneath the horizon at the west,
The gleam in your eyes walks out suddenly from the world
As the breeze of your breath at the top of my head
Halted in between the motion of each spell.

The nightmare from the night stole the painted curve,
The smile that brings me to the dream you hold.
The clock struck pointing straightly at twelve
Let the yells of my fear start the race from hell.

And as the sun was setting to say good bye,
The day flickered a dashing ray of white.
The darkness of the night covered the sky with gloom
Like the day you left me with my broken soul.

Another hope came as the sun rise again
Shining in glee above the mountains and trees
But the happiness I felt when you're still around,
Would never be felt again even the sun stays late tonight.
