People WatcherA Poem by Rosemary Diane LuceroObservational with a touch of street.
I smoke my cocktails down I move my brain into the sound For breakfast I eat some words Separating loud voices in herds I only drink coffee black there No food meets this greedy gut Thinning to the taste of air The newspapers keep me there Undoing undone, unfold the fun Dreaming in empires and guns Barstools fill with drunken nuns Train splitters catch my eye To converse with them I won't try Breathing the filth from my mouth With plush real estate and a smile I watch all these people as they inspire This country has all God damn day! © 2009 Rosemary Diane LuceroAuthor's Note
