The quenching of hand on fire

The quenching of hand on fire

A Poem by Rosemary Diane Lucero
"

About writing and how upon getting re-acquainted with my ex made me just write. And caused a lot of pain in my 18 year marriage. It is meant as a lyric really.

"

I put out my hand on fire to you

Put out my hand on fire!

Blindsided and blind

I could smell you then

Downwind at the fire station

You were testing the flame

I never laid down just to have some

Still we put it deep into the grips

Unconscious and breathing air

My eyes feel the heat

Pressing my body closer now

I feel more complete

And I can taste all your pain away

And you can cause mine

But that's all over now

And I still got the itch

And my blood comes rising

And my brain starts to twitch

I put out my hand on fire

I put out my hand on fire
