MARRIAGE

MARRIAGE

A Poem by Reggie

M an and a woman, not a man and man, not a woman and a woman.
A time to celebrate, and cleave to become one.
R ings symbolizing forever! Not just until you find out your 401 k doesn't count towards your "spouse"
R ights as a married couple. Joint tax returns for those who truely meet the definition of marriage , as defined in the Bible.
I nspiration....our parents, who made us! How else would we be here? Kind of hard to create a baby with 2 moms or 2 dads.
A doptions should not be an option, unless you have both a male and female figure in the childs life.
G enetics, you better make sure you're not siblings first.
E lopement, sorry its not legal in Las Vegas. I guess there isn't a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow after all.

I like it. Its cleverly written and to the point without pointing out the obvious. Your emotions do you justice in creating poetry. And the acrostic is a nice touch. I especially like the hidden symbolism in using the skunk photo, I noticed that it is a male skunk, (enough said).
