An Easter Poem: I dream of forgivenessA Poem by Robert KeanI
dream of forgiveness A
memory, so foreign to me now That
wakes me to a still night. Some
hurt, somebody, some place long ago But
it was me.
A
cold glass of water I
drink to wet my lying tongue. I
breathe to calm my guilt-ridden chest I
toss and turn and kick the sheets I
drive my heavy head into the pillow.
Oh,
why would you die for me? Me,
who knows very little Me,
who disobeys Me,
who is weak Me,
who is scared Me,
who sometimes acts like a child
Yet
you say bring the children For
the Kingdom of God is such as these.
