Abusive IntimacyA Poem by R.J. SeoulMe and my relationship with grammarYou make me look a fool, and yet I am attached to you more intimately than any other being because you are never not with me. I’ve been writing every since I was twelve, and you’ve followed my pen as closely as. Your name, is spit from the mouth’s of seventh and eighth grader’s world wide. I knew this when I first met you, and you never let me forget. Yet somehow I’m attached, to you. Some would call our relationship abusive, I’ve no doubt it is. You ruin me with each and every word I type. If I had only listened to the truckers, who hate you as you bastardize their sons with signs proclaiming “Drive Slow Children At Play” with no definition as to whether you insult their children or wish to protect them. I should of guessed after hearing the Panda’s testimony. As it now sit’s in jail from simple confusion as the panda eats, shoots and leaves and manages to kill no one! Like Harry’s Potter and He Whom Must Not Be Named You and I run together And Only one will ultimately survive. And oh Lord please separate us more! For I hear the rappers ignore you, I beg to you, O Lord! Give me their abilities, allow me the same separation from my beautiful debacle. Let me Free and come closer you seductive being. Throw your commas at me, hit me with your apostrophes, deny me the right to use a semi-colon; for you know I abuse the right. Teach me how to add emphasis to my thoughts! But please stop ignoring my calling to you. For only you, grammar, my darling, can kill my writing. © 2011 R.J. Seoul |
