My Northern Star

Men have followed the northern star,

Consistent and never changing is its direction,

It's brilliant light never fading or waning,

Against a backdrop of darkness,

At times it is the only thing that's glittering.

You are my northern star,

The brightest one I have seen so far,

A guiding light throughout my life,

That is who you are.

But like all bright stars it can burn out

And lose it's spark.

We mourn for its lost but we revel for the

Beauty of its light,

Not everything is everlasting but who needs eternity,

If ones life will have no meaning or quality,

But you my northern star, your life may have been short, time may pass, and the world will soon forget,

But you will spend a lifetime in my heart and in

The heart of your family and the people you respect.
