Suburban Cage

Suburban Cage

A Poem by Rizaclaire

Enclose me in a gilded cage called life,
Drown me in the monotony of stability,
I shall wait in the bossom of sweet ignorance,
until you wake me again with the pleasures of travel.

The stories of the unturned stones of the past,
The scent of preserved roses in the pages of old novels
that kept captivating words and lines that touch the deepest
recesses of my soul.

Wake me from my suburban slumber,
Let me walk a mile in uncertainty.
Thread the path where I can hear, taste, and smell the world.
