Broken Love

The sensation at having to give up on one you have loved.

Why does it feel so alone
when this is what I call home?

Why do I feel so lonely
when all I seek is you only?

Why can I no longer stare in your eyes
as I did ages ago, in disguise?

Why, when I look around
all I see is you, all I hear is you, and no other sound?

Why, whenever I think of something
all I think of is you?

Strange thing, Love is
for I have entered a dark abyss
And all I long for, is that kiss.

Help me! I am drowned in anguish
I am being consumed, vanquished

I am no longer the man I was yesterday
Today I am the lone survivor, the castaway.

You can’t be mine
The Gold no longer shines

I give up; I walk away
away from the fray

This path I’ll walk alone
without a sound, without a groan

The path ahead glows
In the middle of it, a rose

Standing proud, radiating hope
within my mind, as a gentle probe

Smiling slightly, I walked ahead
suppressing the regret

Today I am a wiser man
and so I ran
farther and farther away
keeping my life at bay.
