The number forty-two

The number forty-two

A Poem by if i were a season i'd be winter

I wrote a song for you but threw it out

Because I know it'd make you smile

I sang a line for you but not out loud

Because I know t'd make you laugh

I bought a fish for you but let it drown

Because I know it'd  make you happy

I want to hear you laugh, see your smile

And know it's just for me

I want to be close to you and know

That for a moment you live for me

Like I live for you

For you to see

How I see you

I dialed your number but hung up on you

Because you voice would make me smile

I wrote a letter but never mailed it to you

Because your response would make me laugh

I came to your house but didn't see you

Because you always  make me happy

I want to hear you laugh, see your smile

And know it's just for me

I want to be close to you and know

That for a moment you live for me

Like I live for you

For you to see

How I see you

YOu played a song for me but I tuned ti out

Because listening would make you smile

You bought a plant for me but I let it brown

Because keeping it would make you laugh

You waited all night fo rme but I let you down

Because meeting you would make you happy

I got to hear you laugh, see you smile

And I knew it was just for me

I got to be close to you and knew

That for a moment you lived for me

Like I lived for you

And you got to see

How I see you

I want to sive for you

And have you live for me

I'm so scared you'll see

How I see you
