Loving Faith (A Devotional Book)A Story by Dorita Loving Faith
A Devotional Book “Matthew 6:24. “24
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other,
or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God
and money.” People
can’t serve both God and money. If you love God, then He’ll be the priority. It
will be Him that matters in your life and you will want to live for Him and
honor Him and won’t always be driven by money, or have it as all you want or
need in life. We
need God in this life and we need His love and help with what comes. We need
His rest and guidance. We will always need God to love and help us and that
won’t change. The Christian life is one that is based on God, and on accepting
what Jesus did for us on the cross. Once we have accepted what Jesus did for us
and are sorry for our sins, then we are His, and our priorities in our lives
will be to do what pleases Him. He
changes our hearts; lives and we won’t be the same. We are born again. Proverbs 18:10. “10 The name of the LORD is
a fortified tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.” We
should be righteous as believers and go to God with our problems and troubles.
When we run to God for help, He helps us. Who can help us in life more than
Him? Who loves us more and is there for us. He
is the one that can do something about what we go through. He will keep us safe
and loved. How powerful is God and so full of grace, and love for us as His
children. How great it is to get to be His child. We really are blessed to be
His. We have Him to help us with whatever comes. Nehemiah 8:10. “10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” The joy of the LORD is our strength. We should
go to Him with what we face in life. He was always there for people in the
Bible and He is there for us as His children. He does take care of us. We
should go to God with what comes. He is our reason for having joy. He gives us
joy in our life. Real joy comes from knowing and loving Jesus. He is our rock
and hope. The firm foundation to a good life. Jesus is the only way. Why would
we ever want to live without Him? Hebrews 11:6. “6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Without faith we don’t please God. He wants us
to have faith in Him. Faith in Him changes everything about how we view life
and what comes. We can have hope no matter what comes when we have faith. He is
the reason for having a good life. Jesus made a way for us to have a good life.
He really does want what is best for us as His sheep. He wants what is best for
our lives and we should always keep our hope in Him, putting Him first in our
lives. Mark 11:24. “24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” We
should believe we will receive what we ask for in prayer. We should have faith
that when we ask God for something that we will receive it. He’s not going to
give us something bad for us. We should ask for things that we know will be
beneficial. When we ask for something in faith, we will receive it if God
allows it, and we can trust in God that He will give us things that are good
for us. Hebrews 11:1. Faith in Action “11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Faith is confidence in what we hope for and
assurance about what we do not see. We may not always see how things will work
out, or how but with God, and having faith we can know that things will be
okay. We
will be okay when we keep our hope and faith in God, and in His ways. His ways
for us are loving and good for us. Our ways may not always be the best things
for us, even when we think they are, but Gods ways for us are what is best. He
loves us and protects us and we should keep Him first in our lives, always
having faith. Romans 10:17. “17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Our
faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word
about Christ. Our hope is found in Jesus, and we should keep having faith in
Him. We can trust Him to take care of the things we face and worry about. We
should keep following Him as our loving and faithful Shepherd. He is going to
lead us in the right directions and to the right places. 1 John 4:4. “4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” God is way more powerful than the enemy. God
is loving. He loves us and always will, as His children. His children are those
who have accepted what Jesus did for us on the cross and have asked Him into
their hearts and given their lives to Him. Then the Holy Spirit comes to live in us, and
we are Gods children. As Gods children we have hope because He is more powerful
than the one who is in the world, Satan. God is more powerful and always will
be more powerful than the enemy. Jesus conquered him when He died on the cross.
He conquered sin and death and now as believers we live in faith and victory. Isaiah 41:10. “10
So do not fear, for I am
with you; do not be dismayed,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen you
and help you;
I will uphold you with
my righteous right Hand.” God takes care of us as His children, and
always will. His love is so great, and powerful. His ways for us are good, and
best. He will strengthen us and help us, and uphold us with His righteous right
hand. We really can trust in Him, always. How loving, kind, understanding, patient, and
good is God, and all His ways for us are best. John 15:7. “7 If you remain in Me and My
words remain in you, ask
whatever you wish, and it will be
done for you.” If
we remain in God, and His words remain in us, we can ask whatever we wish, and
it will be done for us. We should want Gods will and have faith. We should have
faith that God can accomplish what He wants to happen. What God wants, will take place. His plans
will happen, and He will follow through on all of His plans. We should pray for
what we wish for, in accordance with Gods will, and it will be done. Colossians 1:4. “4 because we have heard of
your faith in Christ Jesus and of
the love you have for all God’s
people.” We
should keep our faith in Jesus, and keep having love for all Gods people. God
is so loving and wants us to be loving too. His love is powerful and He loves
us as His children. His love for us is unconditional and good. We
should keep loving Him and loving others. God is good to us and knows what we
need in our lives. We can trust in Him always, and we should keep having faith,
hope and love, like it says in the Bible. Colossians 2:5. “5 For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.” We
should have a strong faith in Christ and know that He can accomplish so much in
us. When we come to know Him, we are changed. We live in a new life. One that
wants to do what pleases God. We
should follow God wherever we go and whatever we do and live our lives for Him,
always. How loving and great is God and all worthy of our lives and all of our
praise and love. He is good and will always keep all of His many promises. All
of His promises that He tells us in His word, He will accomplish. Luke 22:32. “32 But I prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” We
should keep having faith even in hard times that we go through, just like Job
did. He went through so much, but yet stayed faithful to God, and then ended up
with more than before. No matter what we go through, we should keep having our
eyes on Jesus. Just like when Peter walked on the water, He
was falling but Jesus helped him. He helps us up when we fall and we should
keep having faith and keep our eyes on Jesus, the one that our hope is found
in. Matthew 17:20. “20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Our faith should be strong in God, and God can
help us to have more faith. Even if we have a faith as small as a mustard seed,
we can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for us. We should keep our faith and know that with
God anything is possible, like Jesus said. Nothing is impossible for God, and
we really can fully rely on Him. We can be still and know that God is God, and
can and will help us if we keep choosing to have faith. Ephesians 2:8-9. “8 For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-9 not by works, so that no one can boast.” It
is by grace that we have been saved, through faith and this is not from
ourselves, it is the gift of God. It’s not works. No one can boast because we
are saved by grace. That means that no one deserves the grace of God. But He
gives it. We can earn salvation. Jesus laid down His life and salvation is
found in accepting what He did for us on the cross and Him rising again. When
we accept what He did for us on the cross and ask Him to change us and make us
new, we are His. He comes and changes us. When
we are changed by Jesus, we are born again. We are a different person than we
were before. We have a new life. Jesus is our authority, and we should do
things His way. Luke 1:37. “37 For no word from God will ever fail.” No
word from God will ever fail. What He says He will do, He will do, and He won’t
change or fail us. We should always live our lives for Him as believers,
knowing He loves us and is there for us. His word is there for us and God loves us as
His children. We can trust that God does keep His word, and all His promises
will come true. How good is God and we can count on Him, no matter what storm
may come in life. God will be there, always. We should keep having our faith in
Him and know that we can always trust Him. 1 Corinthians 2:5. “5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” Our
faith should not rest on our own wisdom but on Gods power. He is the one that
helps us, heals us and loves us. We need His help and always will. We need the
power of the Holy Spirit in us to comfort us when we need comfort, and we need
the grace and love of God, always. The Holy Spirit is God and always there for
us. He is comforting and loving. We
shouldn’t rely on what we think, because we may be wrong, but God is always
right. We should go by what God says and wants. We should rely on what God
wants for us and not what someone may want or what we may want. Gods ways and
plans for us are best. His love and faithfulness are always there for us and we
can rely on the love and grace of God. Philippians 4:13. “13 I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” We
can do all things though Christ who gives us strength. Our strength as
Christians comes from Jesus and belonging to the family of God. We really can
do all things through Jesus who strengthens us. We
need Jesus. We need our Shepherd. The Christian life is a good one. Once Jesus
has changed us, we have a great life. We are loved, we are new, we are changed.
We have victory in life that is found in Jesus and we no longer have to live
how we did before. Jesus changes our hearts. He gives us a more softer and more loving
heart. Luke 17:5. “5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” The apostles wanted to have more faith and
asked the Lord to have more faith. We as Christians can do that too. We can ask
for more faith and talk to Jesus about what we need and want. He loves us and
we should keep having our faith in Him. Jesus came, and lived and died in our place
and took the punishment on the cross that we deserved and died in our place. He
deserves our lives, our hearts and us to follow Him in faith. Galatians 2:20. “20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” As Christians we have been crucified with
Christ and we no longer live but Christ lives in us. The life we now live in
the body we live in the body, we live by faith in the Son of God, who loves us
and gave Himself up for us. Our hope is found in Jesus as Christians. He gave
His life up for us to give us a better one. How precious is our loving Savior.
He is the light of the world and our reason to have a purpose in our lives. Romans 12:3. “Humble Service in the Body of Christ “3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourselves more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.” We
need the grace of God and we shouldn’t think our ourselves as more highly than
we are. We should be humble and know that it is God who is amazing. He is who
is great, powerful and His love is perfect. Jesus should be our leader in life and He is
our authority. Only He deserves to be our authority because only He is perfect.
He is perfect and never sinned. He is God. Jesus is so loving, kind and there
for us as His sheep. And always will be. 2 Timothy 4:7. “7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” We
as Christians shouldn’t give up our faith but keep it until the end. So many
people in the Bible kept their faith in God through whatever came, knowing that
and believing that God would take care of them. We
should have faith that moves mountains and trust in God too. We should keep our
faith in God and keep having hope. Real hope is found in knowing and loving
Jesus and we are His when we become Christians. How amazing is Jesus for living
and dying for us and rising again, and then ascending into heaven. He is in
heaven now, sitting at the right hand of God, and we will go to be with Him
someday, if we keep being faithful and keep having faith. Matthew 7:24-27. “The Wise and Foolish Builders 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” We
as Christians should keep having our faith in Jesus no matter what comes. When
we focus on Jesus, and keep our eyes on Him, and keep following Him, then when
something bad happens or something we feel we can’t handle, we will get through
it, because we are prepared. We
have “built” our house on knowing and loving Jesus and on having a strong
faith. A strong foundation is one on Jesus, and we can and should trust in Him. Storms come and things may not always be easy
in life, but the Christian life is a good one because we have hope no matter
what comes. When we have faith in Jesus, we know we will be okay. When we put all of our hope and faith in
Jesus, we have a hope that no matter what comes, we will be okay. There are
good times in life and bad, but God is always good. He is there for us and
always will be. His love for us as His children never ends and never fails. It
is always what we need in life. We need God in our lives and we always will.
That doesn’t change. We will always need God as Christians. As believers we
will always need Him and always need His help and guidance. We
should do Gods will and remain on the narrow road. Jumping “upstream”, in this
life and go wherever God leads us. His ways and plans for our life are good,
and He is so full of grace, love and mercy. How loving is God and so faithful.
We should always live totally and completely for Him, in this Christian life,
both now and always. James 1:5-8. “5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the
wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double- minded and unstable in all they do.” We
should be totally dedicated to God, and keep being on the narrow road. We
should keep our faith strong in God, and not waver. We can’t expect anything
from God if we aren’t dedicated to Him. We
should keep our faith strong in God, and know that in Him we really will always
be okay. We should always have faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these
is love. How good is God that we get to have faith in Him and get to live with
Him forever someday. It’s great being a child of God and getting to have faith. © 2020 Dorita |
