Being a Light

Being a Light

A Story by Dorita

In the spring there wasn't that much to see in the town of Mayberry, but Alley didn't let that stop her. She was going to stay as long as God wanted her to. And do what He wanted. So far she was sure that she was there for a reason and she would find out just what that was.
She worked as a teacher and every day she would see the kids eating their lunch and wonder how she could be a light there. She prayed about it, and then decided to tell them about Jesus. She walked up to them that day and told them about Jesus.
And they were so happy to hear about Him and ten children came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savoir. Then their parents heard about it and she was soon fired. Told not to tell them about Him. The kids complained to their parents about this and said that she was the best teacher they had had.
One of the children from the school that accepted Jesus, heard in church about how much Jesus loved children and she grew up to go to the mission field. Another child grew up and told his whole family about Jesus.
Another child grew up and went to tell all his friends about Him too. One day as this teacher was thinking back on her time at the school and looking at her class she cried tears about being a light and knew that God had used her. And was never sorry about losing her job.
