Goodnight, Daddy

Goodnight, Daddy

Poem about daughters and daddys

Push me daddy! Feet point to the sky, high,
swinging up, up and away, little bird.

Catch me daddy! Running, shrieking,
falling into strong arms and a pile of giggles.

Watch me daddy! Top of the slide in joyous abandon,
sliding into safety, trust unconditional.

Little hand slips into and enfolded by strength,
holding on to innocence, daddy’s little girl.

Good night daddy.
Dream the dreams of little girls,
tuck you in all nice and tight,
While daddy kisses you goodnight.
Good night, daughter…

i have two daughters and two sons (all grown) my youngest son was the only one that allowed me to toss him in the air .. the others were too terrified (to my bewilderment; me being a risk taker) during those hard years (the teens) the terror became mine ;} but we all made it ... whew!!!!! very enjoyable moments you captured .. brings good memories to mind for me!

This is a beautiful sentiment to daddy / daughter time and one that I can relate to very much. the pushing on the swings, holding hands, bedtime stories and good night kisses.. You have me smiling with this one Riss, you captured the unconditional love and wide eyed fun that comes with the quality time we share with our children, thank you for posting :)
