Belonging

Belonging

A Poem by Christopher Ross Livingstone

Belonging By Christopher Ross Livingstone
Experience of loss or change cracks us wide open
Not knowing where to start or to turn
Because shocks rocks the foundation at it's core
We' were standing all so firm
But from branch to leaf
Until loss shudders the hearts and a ways of life
We all forget the roots underneath
Becuase we're caught to the waves in motions of emotion
Deep as it does
The human experience needs time to process to
Leetting it heal is knowing to feel it raw
The transitioning phases from shock to the time to heal
How can we know peace without feeling loss?
Wide open the crack appeared
Left with it intuative questions
Belonging is something we seek
In relation to how we see and feel
Interactions and relationships are key
Loss of a generation speaks to the soul
We therefore question our belonging
But as we do,
Always come to the roots
