A Poem by Christopher Ross Livingstone

20 years since By Christopher Ross Livingstone
Feeling of a lifetime,
Supressed and closeted
The weight of it
Living a life
As a lie
Contained and unexpressed
Coming out
I began to live to express a life
As an open gay man
On a note of honest reflection
Oh, the shame of it
The moments
Before and after
Pain in the tear
The shame on the heart string
Feeing you're wrong
Gay shame
Vast and deep
Emnating from society's hangups
Dealing with internalised and socialtal homophobia
20 years since
Coming out
Journey to heal a heart
