Cravings

Cravings

A Poem by Christopher Ross Livingstone

Cravings
I've stopped on the tracks of truth
Looking to myself
Face in the mirror
Lifting my head
No longer leaving it to tomorrow
Questioning,
Realising
And knowing,
Humbling myself
The cycles of emotional overeating
Were giving me sides and faces I didn't want
The realisation
Like an echo to soul
Began the cravings to change
 Outweighing those craving to consume

Curiosity sparked the flame
A desire to let s**t go
Slowly I did it
Paths, walks and roads
Like a well travelled snail
Awakening a spirit
Like an early bird flying across the sun
I've felt the spirit
Accept what it is
Slowly,
Take the chance on the tracks of truth
Craving the change
Lay aside the need to consume
Giving to me anew

And I ask you
As one heart beat to another
Do the cravings to change
Began to outweigh your cravings to consume?
