Local spaces, connected places

Local spaces, connected places

A Poem by Christopher Ross Livingstone

Local spaces, connected places
Local spaces
Could be living and breathing spaces
But how connected are they?
Local spaces
Have become divided spaces
Roads and roadblocks causing congestion
And segregation
Local spaces
Is no longer a symbol for quiet contemplation and connection
But modern times have given to us fast cars and a throw away culture
Local spaces
Have become flats and individual lifestyles
I ask you, how connected are we?
Local spaces
Can be thriving spaces once more
Only if we open up and talk once more
Local spaces
Are spaces of belonging and connection
Let's reclaim this
To make local spaces
More connected places
