In secrets

In secrets

A Poem by Christopher Ross Livingstone

In secrets,
In secrets,
We hide,
The truth is a hidden
In the depths
The pain is ours
We fear
Letting it loose
And in secrets
We hide
Secrets
Like an illusion of comforts
But in truth
Only prolong suffering
And deny ourselves the authenticity
Because in secrets
We life to ourselves and each other
In secrets,
The pain is real
It's lived from the inside
And from there,
It can be all consuming
Only if you let it
The turmoil
In secrets
Can give to us
New truth
Secrets
Can be shed
If we embrace our truths of pain
How comfortable do we feel in our skins?
Let that resonate
If we hide the discomfort,
The pain will only fester
And tether itself upon our souls
Let go we must
And from pain.
We rise
To live a life
Away from secrets
To a new truth
And connection
